Thanks for the reminder. The spiritual warfare in your mind often wants to second guess God's grace through the lens of trauma and stress layered over years of field work and deployments. It's always the question of reassurance of how Gods see's your actions and then accepting His grace.

I have tried to do that very thing.

Question is how do you deal with the knowledge that you made a literal "life and death" decision for someone else who also bears the image of Yahweh?

It is a very heavy burden!

More than one incident makes it exponentially heavier to bear.

I served from 1989 to 2009, so LOTS OF burden.

Our military are not just running everywhere and shooting anyone they want. We are at war, and they are killing the enemy!!!!

Very well stated, great clarification for any Officer who encounters such a situation. As a former Officer I can easily recall situations wherein this information would have been helpful. With two sons following in my footsteps I didn’t waste a moment and sent this along to them. Thank you!

Thank you Elohim for this message that deals with something most serious. By bring it forth to this faithful servant and especially at this time and last hour we are experiencing. I get this question a lot as a newly Christian learning especially that I am in security for almost thirty years. When you get this question from non-believers it must be address correctly yet in Canada, we don't have the same tools or supporting systems as in the USA. Also, hopefully another concern respecting the verse used from Exodus 22:2. Some have carried that over into verse 3 and applied it to if they had entered during daylight hours the condition would change or has been explained that way. (could you hopefully do one on the verse 3).

What I have heard regarding the explanation is if daylight is present your under obligation to consider what danger is present meaning weapon and death present if it is not then different repose ids expected. That's what current authorities claim in the news media about defense in the home during the day. This would be great respecting Christians that are in these fields I look forward to it if you do. Thank you. a great read

I would say, verse 3 applies to a "thief", but if an actual threat is observed, or inferred because of actions or words, the intruder is no longer a "thief". They have now become an assailant, and should be defended against. From that point, it becomes an application of appropriate continuum of force.

Thanks for the response and I agree yet unfortunately here in Canada they disagree and would still charge you. Yet recently either back East Ontario or it was Alberta that they proposed a bill and hoping to change that to yes, you defend the matter. WE will see if they actual make it law. Bless be you.
